Professional Development
International Art Therapy Association is committed to advancing structured learning, professional development, and global growth in art therapy, drawing-based approaches, and expressive arts.
As global needs continue to expand in mental health support, education, child and adolescent development, family relationships, workplace well-being, and social care, creative expression is becoming an increasingly meaningful approach that connects psychological understanding, emotional support, and human-centered care.
With an international perspective, the Association develops multi-level learning pathways that may include structured programs, professional seminars, thematic workshops, practical training, supervision-oriented development, global instructor training, and institutional collaboration projects.
The educational framework emphasizes theoretical foundations, practical application, ethical awareness, and professional communication. It supports learners in developing abilities in artwork observation, emotional understanding, relational exploration, questioning and facilitation, group work, and educational delivery.

Global Instructor Development

The Association continues to promote global instructor development and professional knowledge transmission. This pathway supports professionals with relevant learning experience, practical foundations, and teaching interest in further developing their abilities in curriculum design, teaching delivery, case understanding, group facilitation, ethical awareness, and reflective supervision.
The Global Instructor Development pathway aims to cultivate art therapy-related educators with international perspectives, professional structure, and practical application abilities, supporting the dissemination and application of art therapy-related knowledge across diverse cultural, educational, and helping contexts.
